Pop/Rock and Broadway invade the Rockwood Music Hall for a benefit concert

The Violet Hour, a residency at Rockwood Music Hall, will perform a special benefit concert this Thursday, July 7 at 8:30 p.m. on Rockwood Stage 3.

An hour of musical variety inspired by TS Eliot’s poem The Wasteland, THE VIOLET HOUR invites you to revel in the twilight with a surprisingly modern and nostalgic tribute to the music of the 80s, 90s + 2000s. A variety show featuring some of the New York’s most captivating artists. Hosted by Mikayla Petrilla, featuring the talents of Broadway’s Charissa Hogeland, pop artist Petra Jarrar, comedian Eliza Kingsbury and R+B artist Saige Noelle. The show will be performed by NYC musicians Kyle Milner and Jamie Amadruto. This month’s Violet Hour focuses on women’s rights with songs by No Doubt, Kate Bush, Andra Day, Stevie Nicks, Lesley Gore, Kehlani, The Police, Florence and the Machine, Demi Lovato and music original by Petra Jarrar and Saige Noelle.

Mikayla Petrilla has performed live at Joe’s Pub at the Public, McKittrick Hotel/Sleep No More, Signature Theatre, New York Musical Theater Festival, Hard Rock Cafe, Club Cumming, Chelsea Music Hall and recently premiered Decades in Concert at the Cabaret Theater downtown. Eliza Kingsbury is a comedian, actress, and self-proclaimed pop star based in New York City. She writes original music in the style of different pop artists. His solo show, “Pop Stars Are Dumb (But We Love Them)” had a long run at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. His other credits include UCB Maude Night, multiple running shows, Bridge and Tunnel, Montreal Sketchfest, Toronto Sketchfest and Reductress. Follow his work @edewlittle

Petra Jarrar is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and model. Of Palestinian and Sri Lankan descent, Jarrar says she “never really saw girls who looked like her in the spotlight.” Since then, she has made it her mission to use her platform and her voice to lead the way for women of color, advocating for diversity, representation and inclusion in the music industry. Jarrar has performed worldwide with headlining shows in New York (Knitting Factory, Webster Hall), Boston (Hard Rock Cafe), Los Angeles (The Mint), Tokyo and Osaka. Saige Noelle is a Connecticut-based singer, actress, and multi-instrumentalist. His new single, “Sneaky Link”, combines sparse, bubbling synth beats with Saige’s signature sweet vocals. “Sneaky Link” is the ultimate dreamy R&B anthem, prelude to a highly anticipated album on the horizon, and will be performed live at the Heure Violette.
