Counting Crows postponed Tuesday night’s concert at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheater after a case of COVID-19 was confirmed during the group’s tour.

The group made the announcement on Sunday after canceling their performance that night in Boston.

On a Facebook post, the group said they were postponing the two concerts “out of excess of caution.”

“We are working quickly to find new dates for these shows,” the post read. “Hold on to your tickets as they will be honored for the new dates, once announced.” The entire group and crew were vaccinated and took great precautions to be as safe as possible. “

Led by Adam Duritz on vocals, Counting Crows was formed in California in 1991. The group was nominated for two Grammy Awards and an Academy Award.

It was the second gig to be hit by COVID this week in northeast Ohio. Lynyrd Skynyrd withdrew from Monday’s gig for the Legends at Canton’s Tom Benson Stadium after guitarist Rickey Medlocke tested positive for COVID.

The 4,800-person Youngstown Amphitheater is located at 2021 S. Phelps St. in the 20-acre Wean Park near the Mahoning River. It opened in 2019 but had to cancel last summer’s concert season due to the pandemic.
