TCO announces additional dates for the first UK tour of Punjabi world music stars AP Dhillon and Gurinder Gill, which will take place in February 2022. Due to phenomenal audience demand, new dates have been added in London and Birmingham , after selling out within minutes. .
The 6-date tour will see the duo perform additional dates at Forum Birmingham on February 23 and Indigo at the O2 in London on February 24.
The tour will begin with sold-out shows at the Forum Birmingham on February 17, Indigo at the O2 London on February 18, O2 Ritz Manchester on February 19, with limited tickets available for the show at Leeds University Union on February 20.
AP Dhillon was the revolutionary Punjabi music act of the past year. Hailing from British Columbia, Canada, Dhillon’s unmistakable style of fusing big hip hop and trap rhythms mixed with crisp Punjabi lyrics and vocal performance has taken the world by storm. After dominating the British Asian and British Punjabi music charts with huge hits like “Brown Mundeâ€, “Insaneâ€, “Majhail†and “Excusesâ€, Dhillon and his creative partner Gurinder Gill will bring their flair to the stages. Since its release last year, “Brown Munde” has surpassed an astounding 385 million views on YouTube and over 78 million streams on Spotify, establishing itself as one of the greatest songs in the world. The song has been a cultural benchmark for the South Asian community, having been shared by Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh, several Indian cricket stars, British rap producer Steel Banglez, Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and star of the hip hop Nav, which appears as a cameo in the video.
With an army of fans and followers, a hugely successful repertoire and unparalleled Punjabi swag, AP Dhillon is set to conquer the UK with their first live tour, ably backed by Gurinder Gill. The duo will be in the UK from February 17-24, 2022, presented by TCO.
British Punjabi music star Raf Saperra will be opening act for the tour in London and Birmingham, while British Asian singer Bambi Bains will also open in Birmingham. The tour will be supported by media partners Brit Asia TV and BBC Asian Network.
