Concerted efforts

Two local music organizations are holding concerts at the McAfee Performing Arts and Lecture Center at Saratoga High School this weekend.

The Steinway Society Silicon Valley presents pianist Yeol Eum Son on March 12 at 7:30 p.m. The program includes works by Baldassare, Mendelssohn, Prokofiev, Ravel and Kapustin.

In-person tickets are $38-$65 and live tickets are $40 at https://steinwaysociety.com/tickets.

On March 13, the Saratoga Symphony Orchestra performs at 3 p.m. at the McAfee Center, 20300 Herriman Ave. The romantic music program includes Weber’s Jubilee Overture (1818), Schubert’s Symphony No. 7 (1821) and Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 2 (1877), with violinist Julian Brown.

The concert is free. Participants must wear masks inside the theater.

Wine and cheese evening

Author and counselor Nicole Unice will share her new book, “The Miracle Moment: How Tough Conversations Can Effectively Transform Your Most Important Relationship,” at an April 2 event at the Federated Church of Saratoga. During the session, Unice will share practical steps to create breakthrough moments in all relationships.

The Unice presentation will be followed by a reception at the Foothill Club opposite the church, with wine, cheese and live jazz.

The event is scheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the church, 20390 Park Place. Tickets are $15 at https://saratogafederated.org/familyblast.
