If you’re heading to Kitchener on Saturday, keep an eye and a listening ear for live local music from all over the city.

The City of Kitchener’s “Love My Hood” initiative will celebrate Neighbors Day 2021 with “Small Intimate Pop-Up Concerts” in Kitchener neighborhoods. There will be over 20 local musicians offering their talents to every nook and cranny.

Residents are encouraged to put on their sneakers, grab a lawn chair and a walking partner, and travel to their neighborhood in search of the shows, as the city notes that the locations and times of these concerts will not be shared. in advance, although they hinted that there may be occasional teasing of information on their social media pages.

The city also notes that concert start times vary by neighborhood, with performances staging between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – everywhere from alleys and lawns to boulevards and porches.

In the spirit of Neighbors Day 2021, residents are also encouraged to “bring their neighbors together” in their own way – whether doing a good deed for a neighbor they love, supporting local businesses, organizing a garage sale or going on a picnic at a favorite local spot.
