iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Cancels Last Night’s Holiday Concert Tour

The final stop of IHeartRadio’s Y100 Jingle Ball Tour Presented by Capital One The vacation-themed concert scheduled to take place today, December 19, at the FLA Live Arena (formerly BB&T Center) in Sunrise, Fla., Will not go as planned.
It was a series of unfortunate events linked to COVID-19 that ultimately forced the organizers of the spectacular annual multi-city concert to cancel the show. With the COVID-19 Delta variant wreaking havoc this winter, coupled with new cases of Omicron variants making their way across the American landscape, several flagship Jingle Ball performers as well as crew members have tested positive for COVID- 19.
The concert series that began 26 years ago was originally intended to feature Doja cat, Megan you stallion, Black Eyed Peas, AJR, Saweetie, Tate McRae, Monster X, Bazzi, Anitta and Dixie D’Amelio on the last night of the 10th city tour. The highly successful and well attended event turned into a massive annual tour hosted by local iHeartRadio stations in major US metropolises that included successful tour stops starting in Dallas / Ft. Worth (November 30), Los Angeles (December 3), Minneapolis / St. Paul (December 6) and Philadelphia (December 13). Doja Cat had to cancel performances in New York (December 10) and Boston (December 12) because a member of his team tested positive for COVID-19. The shows in Chicago (December 7) and Washington DC (December 14) went as planned. COVID-19 had different plans for the last two stops on the tour where Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion and the Jonas Brothers decided to withdraw from the tour last week due to COVID-19 infections. Doja Cat had tested positive while Megan the stallion posted on social media that she had not tested positive, but was not feeling well. However, a member of Megan the stallion’s crew had tested positive a few days earlier. Positive infections prompted indie-pop rockers AJR to drop the final stops on the tour, and organizers were able to add Grammy-winning reggae artist Sean Paul as a replacement. With rappers Doja Cat and Megan the stallion, the headlines of the bill not being able to happen, as well as the rise in Covid-19 infections were certainly enough for festival organizers to make the difficult decision to cancel. the last night of the tour.

“Due to the increased transmission of the new variant of Covid-19 and to further minimize potential risks, as a precautionary measure and for the safety of our staff, talents and guests, we have made the decision to cancel tonight’s iHeartRadio YIOO Jingle Ball, ”festival organizers announced.

Ticket holders for tonight’s Y100 Jingle Ball show will receive a point-of-purchase refund within 48 hours, the promoters said.
