Two men have been charged in a fatal shooting at a Dallas concert hall in April.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers arrested Astonial Calhoun, 25, and Devojiea Givens, 26, on Wednesday and charged them with murderous driving.
Police said the charges stem from the April 2 shooting on Cleveland Road.
Officers responded to a shooting at an unauthorized ride and concert at 5050 Cleveland Road around 12:13 p.m. Promoters of the event called it the “second annual epic Easter bike and ride party.” field “.
Dallas police said 16 people, including four minors, were shot during the concert. A 17th person was also injured at the scene, but not by gunshot.
Kealon Dejuane Gilmore, 26, was killed in the shooting. Gilmore was reportedly shot in the head near the scene and died at the scene.
According to police, the preliminary investigation determined that after a fight broke out at the event, Calhoun and Givens both fired handguns into the crowd.
Givens and Calhoun were taken to the Dallas County Jail. Bail will be determined by a magistrate.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said. Officers are working to identify other suspects who fired weapons and other suspects involved in the fight that led to the shooting.
