DOWNTOWN AKRON – An intimate Valentine’s Day concert by newlyweds Joshua Bell and Larisa Martinez, a holiday concert by The Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass, and a concert with long-estranged Cuban brothers are part of the Akron 2021 concert series -22 from Tuesday Musical.

Concerts, presented at 7:30 p.m. at EJ Thomas Hall, located at 198 Hill Street, unless otherwise specified, include:
• VOCES8, October 19: This British a cappella ensemble’s “Choral Dances” program covers the music of Bach at Irving Berlin. Passionate about education, VOCES8 will also participate in a residency supported by the Akron University School of Music’s Kulas Concert Series, according to Tuesday Musical officials.
• Naughton Piano Duo: November 16 – Identical twins Christina and Michelle Naughton will perform works by Copland, Bernstein and others on two Steinway grand pianos – sometimes together on one piano – for the annual Margaret Baxtresser piano concert Tuesday Musical.
• The Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass, December 7 at the Akron Civic Theater, 182 S. Main St.: Led by a member of the famous musical family, this large brass ensemble will perform at the Civic for a festive swing program. , classical and jazz music from New Orleans.
