The University of Harrisburg has hosted a series of events throughout the week, culminating this weekend with three consecutive concerts.
The shows are part of the university’s Tech & Town Week, which included the school’s HUE Invitational esports tournament as well as seminars, conferences and other events.
Two of the three concerts will take place at Riverfront Park on Front Street, with a third at XL Live nearby. If you’re looking for details, here’s the game plan:
Cage the elephant
7 p.m. Thursday, September 23 at Riverfront Park, 200 S. Front Street, Harrisburg
This concert is already sold out, so you can expect to see a big crowd by the riverside on Thursday. Cage the Elephant hails from London to Kentucky and is best known for the song “Trouble”, which you can listen to here on YouTube.
The independent group is inspired by punk, alternative rock and psychedelic rock. They won two Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, once for “Tell Me I’m Pretty” in 2017 and more recently for “Social Cues” in 2020.

Dawes
7 p.m. Friday, September 24 at XL Live, 801 S. 10th Street, Harrisburg
Friday night’s show will feature Southern California folk rock band Dawes and will be held at XL Live. The group is known for songs such as “A Little Bit of Everything”, “All Your Favorite Bands”, “When My Time Comes” and “Things Happen”. Their seventh and most recent album, “Good Luck with Something”, was released in October 2020.

Portugal. The man
7 p.m. Saturday, September 25 at Riverfront Park, 200 S. Front Street, Harrisburg
The last concert of the week returns to the riverside for another outdoor show, this time with Portugal. The Man’s hits include “Purple Yellow Red and Blue”, “Live in the Moment”, “Modern Jesus” and “Feel It Still”.
This latest song earned them Best Pop Duo / Group Performance at the Grammy Awards in 2018. You can listen to it by clicking on this YouTube link.
