Almost a year after announcing her retirement from music, Teyana Taylor embarked on a brief tour to say goodbye to her. The show series, titled The Last Rose Petal… Farewell Tour, began earlier this month and is scheduled to run through November 30 in Atlanta. Sadly, her plans for a smooth tour were disrupted ahead of a recent show. She was scheduled to perform in Connecticut on Saturday alongside Ari Lennox and Sevyn Streeter when she took to Instagram to reveal she had been hospitalized for exhaustion.
“Thank you for being so understanding,†Teyana wrote under a photo of herself in a hospital bed. “You all know Petunia never misses a show, and more importantly, I left everything on stage for a month in a row 1000%. So I’m really saddened that I couldn’t do the same for you last night. She continued, “My team and I tried everything until the very last second to get me on stage, but my body just gave in, which actually started a few days ago. STOP, my actually discreet body betrayed me because ah bitch was trying to get on that stage.
“You all know I’m with shit,†she added. “You’ve all seen me with a broken foot and all kinds of crazy stuff, but you got on that stage anyway and played it… But honestly you have to listen to your body and know when to sit down; or it will definitely sit you… .. in the emergency room. “
Teyana also said she would take the next few days to “continue to recover”. She added that a new date for the Connecticut show will be scheduled soon and that previously purchased tickets will be honored.
