Tickets for the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview concerts will not give you free access to the New York State Fair this year.

Tickets or ticket stubs for St. Joe’s Amp concerts during the NYS Fair were previously accepted for free entry to the fair each year since the concert hall‘s first full season as Lakeview Amphitheater in 2015. NYS Fair spokesperson Dave Bullard told syracuse.com | The Post-Standard which will not be the case this year, however.

“We have refocused our admission strategy on the new admission cost of $ 3, which is by far the lowest admission price of any major US show,” Bullard said. “Also new for this year’s show, we have streamlined some other promotional pricing and will be announcing them soon. “

Admission to this year’s New York State Fair will be cheaper than in previous years. All tickets will cost $ 3, up from $ 10 in recent years; Children (12 and under) and the elderly (65 and over) are admitted free on all days of State Fair 2021. Unused 2019 pre-purchased tickets will be accepted for admission to the fair 2021.

According to the NYS Fair website, there will also be free entry for certain groups on special days, including students aged 18 and under on Fidelis Care Youth Student Day (August 21), firefighters. active / retired and members of the emergency services on Fire & Rescue Day (23 August), active / retired law enforcement on law enforcement day (30 August), the military Armed Forces Day (September 2) and Indigenous Peoples Day (September 3).

Three concerts are currently scheduled at St. Joe’s Amp during NYS 2021, which lasts longer this year at 18 days. James Taylor and Jackson Browne will play the Amp on August 22; KoRn and Staind will perform on August 25; and Pitbull will take the stage with Iggy Azalea on August 27.

Live Nation previously booked both venues, but the NYS Fair switched to concert promoter Triangle Talent in 2019. The Amp, which sold the naming rights in 2018 and became the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater in Lakeview , is owned by Onondaga County and operated by ASM Global, but concerts are always booked through Live Nation.
