The annual event features the best barbecues in the state and, in 2022, more music programming than ever.
Robert Earl Keen, who will be retiring from touring later this year, will headline the festival. Other artists include Wade Bowen, Kolby Cooper, Pecos & The Rooftops, Kylie Frey and William Beckmann.
American singer-songwriter and artist, Keen is a Texas Cowboy Hall of Famer, known for his songs like “Sonora’s Death Row” and “The Road Goes on Forever (and the Party Never Ends)”. The Houston native has 21 records under his belt and thousands of shows under his belt, according to his website.
“Every music fan should see Robert Earl Keen,” says his website.
In addition to the music, the festival will feature more than 25 of Texas’ best barbecues, showing off their smoked meats to attendees.
According to the Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival website, the barbecue lineup is expected to feature a number of barbecue joints from East Texas as well as several from across the state.
Food trucks and local vendors will have food available from 4 p.m., along with any restaurants that choose to sell food after the barbecue portion of the festival ends.
Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival partners with The Heart of Tyler, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing downtown Tyler. A portion of this year’s proceeds will go directly to support downtown revitalization.
The festival is committed to bringing the best of the best from Texas to its stage each year, previously featuring the Randy Rogers Band, Cody Johnson, Turnpike Troubadours and more.
