Those who enjoy southern gospel music may want to head to Northside Baptist Church in Elizabethtown this weekend for a Real Truth Revival concert.

The South North Carolina gospel group will perform at 6 p.m. Saturday and during regular church services at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Saturday concert will take place outdoors. Worship Pastor Paul Self encouraged people to pack their lawn chairs and go out.

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors.

“It will happen, rain or shine,” Self said.

Self described the band’s musical style as “100% southern gospel”. The group’s four-part harmony comes from the voices of Phillip Hughes, Ric Mull, Jonathan Price and Roger Parks.

“It’s just a big group. It will be a great show. They are genuine people. They love the Lord, and they just want to serve people and encourage people even in difficult times and in difficult times, ”he said. “You won’t be disappointed, I can assure you.”

On the group’s website, realtruthrevival.com, he states that their mission is to “seek an authentic resurgence of a life-changing truth through unique, powerful and inspiring presentations.”

While there is no charge to attend the concert, Self said they are accepting a love offering that will go directly to Real Truth Revival.

Face masks are not mandatory during the event.

More information can be found on the Northside Baptist Church website, n-side.org. The church building is at 1800 Pear Orchard Road.

Self said the church hosts two or three concerts a year. Last year was the first year Real Truth Revival performed and he said they had a good performance.

“People loved their music and listened to it,” he said.
