disney channel pop princess turned star Olivia rodrigo directed to the DMV to record his news NPR Small office concert (at home), which debuted on Tuesday following the announcement of its 2022 Sour world Tour.

Few artists have had a year as rich as the 18-year-old singer-songwriter. She landed gold with her first single, “drivers license”, in early 2021, and followed it up with two more hit singles, “deja vu” and “good 4 u”. His first LP, Sour, bowed in the first place of the Display panel 200 and won Rodrigo 2022 Grammy Award nominations in each of the “Big Four” categories: Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Record of the Year (“Driver’s License”) and Song of the Year (“Driver’s License”).

for her Small office concert (at home), Rodrigo played on the massive success of the “driver’s license” by taking over a branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles, “interesting vibes” and all. Supported by an all-female group with Heather baker (guitars), Hayley brownell (drums, guitars), Arianna Powell (guitars), and Moa Munoz (bass, guitar), Olivia kicked off the performance with a unique take on “good 4 u” that eliminated pop-punk studio instrumentation from the kiss track in favor of an acoustic arrangement of five guitars.

Then came “traitor”, another teenager riddled with anguish Sour earworm – Olivia’s current favorite on the album – before Rodrigo sits down at the piano to lead the band DMV through a simplified version of the “driver’s license”. With time for another, Olivia Rodrigo walked over to the mic to sing an emphatic “déjà vu”, the finer qualities of her “sweet and sour” sound in full screen in the streamlined setting.
