What can fans expect on concert days and nights this summer at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford?

Face masks are not mandatory and you do not have to present a vaccination record or provide proof of a negative test to enter the show.

In addition, tailgating is permitted, unless otherwise specified.

The recently implemented “Stadium Safe” protocols at MetLife, which were previously announced for Giants and Jets games, will also apply to upcoming concerts and stadium events, the venue said.

Stadium management has also set up a mobile ticket office at the entrance and cashless transactions at all concession stands and points of sale. In addition, “improved and frequent cleaning and disinfection protocols have been implemented throughout the stadium, including the use of electrostatic sprayers and hospital-grade cleaning products,” according to a stadium statement.

Venues and shows in the region have adopted different security protocols to fight COVID-19. The Foo Fighters concert on June 20 at Madison Square Garden required attendees to show proof of vaccination, as did fans attending the Eagles concert at the Garden on August 22-24.

Below are the new MetLife “Stadium Safe” security protocols, as provided by the stadium:

Face masks and vaccination protocols

Face masks are not required to enter. However, per CDC recommendations, customers who are not fully immunized should continue to wear masks in indoor public spaces, such as washrooms, clubs, suites, and elevators.

Guests are not required to present a negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination to enter the stadium.

Customers are reminded that masks are mandatory on public transportation systems, including the NJ Transit train and Coach USA bus, and ride-sharing / taxi services.

Health promise

Upon entering MetLife Stadium, guests confirm that they have not been exposed to COVID-19, have no symptoms related to COVID-19 as identified by the CDC, or have a temperature of 100.4 degrees or more. If clients are feeling sick or exhibiting symptoms related to COVID-19, they should stay home.

Once inside the stadium, guests showing symptoms related to COVD-19 should notify the nearest guest services representative.

Assumption of risk

Despite the efforts of MetLife Stadium, an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 and its variants exists in any public place where people are present; MetLife Stadium cannot guarantee that a guest will not be exposed during their visit. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to serious illness and death. By visiting MetLife Stadium, guests voluntarily assume all risks associated with exposure to COVID-19 and its variants.

Mobile ticketing and seats

The MetLife Stadium has returned to 100% capacity in the bowl seats, suites and clubs for all events. Seating locations have not been affected for Giants or Jets season ticket members and suite holders.

Digital tickets are the safest way for customers to receive and manage tickets because they eliminate points of contact. To facilitate contactless entry, all tickets for MetLife Stadium events will be delivered digitally and scanned from guests’ smartphones at the gates. For more information on mobile ticketing, visit ticketmaster.com, nyjets.com/mobileticketing or Giants.com/mobiletickets.

Before arriving at MetLife Stadium, download the Giants app, the Jets app, or the Ticketmaster app and make sure your phone is fully charged. Upon arrival, connect to the free WiFi network and view your ticket on your mobile device.

Customers can view multiple tickets on the same smartphone.

Digital tickets are protected by Ticketmaster’s SafeTix technology which continuously generates a new unique barcode that automatically updates every few seconds so the barcode cannot be stolen or copied. Therefore, camera screenshots or paper prints will not work. If you place your digital ticket in your mobile wallet, no barcode will be visible, however scanners will detect it.

Cashless Transactions and Concessions

To reduce touchpoints, MetLife Stadium is now a cashless venue. NO CASH will be accepted at concession stands and points of sale.

Visa is the preferred method of payment at MetLife Stadium. Pay with a debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) using touch to pay, chip or swipe, or mobile payment, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.

For guests bringing cash to the stadium, reverse ATMs are available onsite to load money onto a prepaid Visa debit card valid for stadium purchases. This service is free for customers. The Visa debit card has no expiration date and can be used anywhere a Visa debit card is accepted.

Reverse ATMs can be found in MetLife West Hall and outside Sections 117, 128, 149, 220a, 245a, 304, 322, 334 and 347.

The Giants and Jets games will provide guests with “Grab and Go” food and drink options and mobile controls. “Grab N ‘Go” locations can be found in MetLife West Hall and in Sections 117, 133, 144, 306 and 330. For mobile orders, customers can use the Giants app or the Jets app on their smartphone to order and pay discounts from their headquarters and then pick up the order at a designated concession stand.

Empty reusable plastic or aluminum water bottles are permitted and can be refilled at stadium water fountains.

Food may be brought into the stadium as long as it is contained in a transparent plastic bag. Factory-sealed plastic water or soft drink bottles (up to 20 ounces) are also permitted (limit of 1 bottle per person).

Improved cleaning and disinfection

Improved and frequent cleaning and disinfection protocols were implemented throughout the stadium, including the use of electrostatic sprayers and hospital grade cleaning products.

Frequently touched surfaces and high traffic areas are monitored and cleaned continuously with CDC approved cleaning products before, after and periodically throughout each event.

Attendants are stationed in each toilet to clean and disinfect throughout the event.

Over 450 hand sanitizer dispensers are widely available throughout the stadium at entrance doors, lobbies, washrooms, clubs and elevators for the use of guests and event staff. Customers can also bring their own bottle of hand sanitizer (up to 6 ounces) and sanitizing wipes.

The MetLife Stadium is an outdoor venue. For all interior spaces, operational measures have been taken to maximize system ventilation rates. All HVAC filtration systems at the facility have been upgraded to MERV-13 or MERV-15 air filters.

Staff training and health screening

All MetLife Stadium event staff have received special training on CDC recommended guidelines and our Stadium Safe procedures.

Event staff are required to complete a health questionnaire and on-site temperature control before reporting to work.

Parking and tailgating

The car parks open five hours before the scheduled time of the event.

Tailgating is permitted in all parking lots within the MetLife Sports Complex, unless otherwise specified.

ONE CAR = ONE SPACE: Be respectful to your traveling companions. Tailgating should be limited to the planked parking space and to the area directly behind or in front of each vehicle. It is forbidden to block the traffic lanes. Bottom-out is also authorized on the medians that separate the parking lots from the roadways. See tailgating policies here.

For Jets and Giants games, a prepaid parking card is required. There are two levels: Platinum for EFG bundles and Gold for all other bundles. For non-NFL events, parking is available on a first come, first served basis and parking fees are paid on site (cash or credit card).

Transparent bags policy

To continue to provide a safe experience, guests may bring a clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag and no larger than 12 x 12 x 6 inches, or a 1 gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar) .

A small purse or wallet measuring no more than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches, with or without a handle or strap, is permitted in addition to the clear plastic bag.

Bags that do not meet these specifications can be checked into our baggage screening trailers (located outside each open door).

For a complete list of permitted and prohibited items, see the “Return to Store Policy”.
