Gunn, a contemporary guitarist and figure in American underground music who will release his sixth studio album on August 27, has produced numerous critically acclaimed solo, duo and ensemble recordings. Grahamsville Little World’s Fair, August 13-15

Old-fashioned family fun at Grahamsville Little World’s Fair, with agricultural and ranching exhibitions and competitions, daily entertainment including live music and demonstrations, rides for all, well, games, vendors and much more. Entrance includes free parking, access to exhibitions, competitions and entertainment. The fair is located at 8230 State Route 55, Grahamsville. BachFest is back.  The annual music festival takes place at SUNY New Paltz.

BachFest, August 7

The Hudson Valley Society for Music will present its annual Hudson Valley BachFest at 5:30 pm The outdoor concert will take place on the Old Main Quad of the SUNY-New Paltz campus and will present a variety of chamber and orchestral works by Bach. , including the Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor for flute and orchestra and the Double Concerto for oboe and violin in C minor. The concert is free and open to the public, and participants are welcome to bring a picnic and drinks, blankets and chairs.

As current COVID-19 protocols dictate, participants who have not been vaccinated are encouraged to wear masks, and all participants are asked to maintain social distancing and sit at least three feet away one on the other if audience members are not in your group. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bethel Woods August 20

“Le Grand Galut (e)”, August 28, 29

The Nesin Cultural Arts (NCA) supported the Sullivan County Chamber Orchestra (SCCO), in collaboration with the critically acclaimed Klezmer group Big Galut (e), will present “Sounds of Jewish Culture,” a series of workshops and public performances, August 25-29.

Here are the three public performances:

  • August 28. 4:30 p.m. at the Hurleyville Performing Arts Center: Big Galut (e) family concert featuring a side-by-side performance with students as part of the NCA Summer Academy of the Arts workshops.
  • August 28, 9:30 p.m. Monticello High School Auditorium: An interactive Big Galut (e) concert that will have audiences cheering and dancing the night away!
  • August 29. 3 p.m. at the Hurleyville Performing Arts Center: SCCO Chamber Music Concert featuring music written by Jewish composers persecuted during the Holocaust and those oppressed by the Nazi regime.

New York International Air Show, August 28-29

The New York International Air Show returns to Orange County Airport in Montgomery with the US Air Force Thunderbirds headlining.
