Afropop star Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, known as Bella Shmurda, couldn’t have dreamed of a better way to usher in the New Year after going all out in Africa’s famous second most populous city , Ibadan.
It was the first big concert of Okokomaiko, the Lagos-born superstar since entering the Nigerian music scene in 2020.
A swarming crowd of fans of the star artist flocked to the Kakanko Inn Hall, the venue for the concert, to see what their favorite had to offer.
Bella Shmurda burst onto the Nigerian scene after her debut single “Vision 2020”, and a follow-up (remix) of the single in which he featured Olamide, and after the release of his critically acclaimed debut EP “High Tension” and he has not quite slowed down.
The crooner “CashApp” was a resounding success in 2021 when he announced the second volume of his debut EP titled “High Tension Vol. 2 “, by sharing the album art on his Instagram page. He is releasing the EP on July 7, 2021.
Powered by the sounds of a well-prepared live band, Bella Shmurda rocked the energetic audience with her popular tunes such as Omnipotent, Ginger Me, Sho Mo Mi and Triaumphant from the Olamide album.
He also played Rush, Fatima, World, Soldier Go, Far Away, Lako, among others
After performing some of her hit songs and collaborations, Bella Shmurda has brought out many artists and they have thrilled fans together.
Among them were Buju, Blaqbonez, AV, Ruger, Areezy, Bad Boy Timz, Jamopyper, Seyi Vibez, Dai Verse and Poco Lee.
Another highlight of the evening was when Bella brought her older sister Fatima to the stage, to whom he dedicated a song called Fatima in her debut EP.
DJ Spinall, Small Doctor, Soft, Zlatan, Barryjay, Superwozzy, Obaz, Pappysnoopy, Idowest, Baloranking, DJ Gabi among others spiced up the event with their performances. Yemo Lee and Papaya Ex were the hosts for the evening.
