What happens when a group that has not played together for 25 years announces that it is reforming to give shows?

In the case of Los Bukis, the result is the hottest North American tour of 2021.

The incredibly popular Mexican grupero group, along with superstar Marco Antonio Solís, have sold hundreds of thousands of tickets for their long-awaited reunion tour.

And the excitement is understandable, given that Los Bukis disbanded in 1996, and a lot of people probably thought they would never get the chance to see the band again in concert – or in some cases, for the first time. .

Talk about a happy surprise for the fans.

Los Bukis ‘Una Historia Cantada trek – which kicked off in late August with two sold-out shows at Los Angeles’ new SoFi Stadium – visits the Bay Area for a pair of massive concerts, October 1 and 2, at the RingCentral Coliseum in Oakland. .

The first night is already full, the second is not far behind. All told, Los Bukis are expected to bring some 80,000 fans to the Oakland A home, making it the largest single (non-festival) headlining event in the Bay Area this year.

To take it even further, this is arguably the biggest Latin music event ever to take place in Northern California.

Show time is 7:30 p.m. and tickets cost between $ 84 and $ 750 (subject to change); ticketmaster.com.
