LIVE music is back in theaters across Bradford – and this month there have been lineups set up for Nick Cave at St George’s Hall.

We drew on our archives to look back on the excited fans lining up to see their rock and pop heroes over the years in the concert hall.

Pictured above is Darius Danesh, who rose to fame on Pop Idol in 2001. A few years later he performed at St George’s Hall – and thrilled fans waiting for him with this surprise appearance outside of the room.

Fans of Peter Andre are pictured outside St George’s Hall in 2010. The singer gave them new tracks and hits, including the much-loved Mysterious Girl.

Also pictured above, Genesis fans queuing for tickets to the supergroup concert at St George’s Hall in January 1980, and fans waiting to see David Bowie when he came to St George’s Hall during his Tin Machine tour in 1989.

Four hours before Bowie’s show started, a hundred fans had gathered around the stage door to witness the arrival of the rock legend. When Bowie’s tour bus pulled up, he jumped up, wearing sunglasses and a baggy cricket sweater, and smiled briefly before disappearing into the concert hall.

You can probably tell from the T-shirt which Irish crooner these ladies (see above) were waiting to see … Daniel O’Donnell fans came to St George’s Hall in 1993 to see him in action.

And Take That fans gathered on Broadway to meet their heroes in November 1992. The guys had played Maestro in Manningham a few months before and were starting to be the biggest boy band of the 90s. Were you there?
