BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Toby Keith fans are gearing up for a big concert this weekend at Bowling Green Ballpark, but ticket sales aren’t what venue managers expected.
Not as many tickets were sold as expected.

Local radio hosts helped promote the show by distributing tickets. WGGC Radio in Bowling Green is even hosting a “Square Party” the night of the concert to encourage country music fans to show up.

Kenny Beckman is an on-air host for WGGC, he says Bowling Green is a “daytime” town and believes many people will wait until Saturday to buy tickets for the concert.

“It’s a last minute deal. Many people are waiting until the last minute to see what the weather will be like on Saturday. A slight chance of rain might put you off, but we’re here to tell you not to worry because the party is going to continue regardless, ”said Beckman.

Many local schools are also starting their fall vacation this weekend, which could be another factor behind the decline in ticket sales.

Toby Keith is one of the greatest performers to perform at Bowling Green in recent years. Ballpark officials hope this concert will bring a lot of income to the community.

The show is this Saturday at 6 a.m. at the baseball stadium. Click here to purchase tickets.
