Lil Wayne Teases ‘Tha Carter VI’ Is ‘Coming Soon’ At Young Money Reunion Concert

(WVUE) — Lil Wayne fans brace themselves, “Tha Carter VI” is coming soon. Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., 39, also known to the world as Lil Wayne, confirmed he was working on the sixth installment in the ‘Tha Carter’ series of albums over the October Global Weekend by Drake on Saturday (August 6) at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto.

In an Instagram video shared by The Shade Room, Lil Wayne is seen standing on stage with fellow Young Money superstars Drake and Nicki Minaj during the reunion concert.

“I’m working on The Carter VIcoming soon,” Weezy told the crowd during his onstage reunion with former Young Money label mates Drake and Nicki Minaj.

There was also a still image flashing on the video screen that read “THA CARTER VI” as everyone left the stage.

Lil Wayne released “Tha Carter V” in September 2018. The 23-track album featured rap big names like Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Snoop Dog, and the late XXXTentacion.

The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 480,000 equivalent albums sold in the first week of its release. It finally went platinum in January 2019.
