The event will feature the songs and music of Garadice with Eleanor Shanley, Charlie McGettigan, The Morrow Brothers and The Messages.

The evening will be a fusion of folk, country and traditional music and songs, infused with the wit and wisdom of Seamus O’Rourke, who is the masterful host of the evening.

Philip McIntyre of the Corn Mill Theater, the only specially designed theater in Leitrim with its own award-winning amateur theater troupe, says the concert is a chance for people to just have fun.

“Music, songs and drama have been greatly lacking in our country, so we are thrilled to create an event for people to meet, have fun and be entertained with the cream of the crop of our county.

“While we care about everyone’s health and safety, our goal is to have a carefree afternoon reminding people that the good times are back! “

Likewise, Seamus O’Rourke, one of the county’s most sought-after artists, said, “I can’t wait to get back on stage and cheer myself up as much as anyone else!

“For too long we have all been behind closed doors, entangled in our own thoughts. It’s time to venture out the front door and into the arms of some muffled music, melodious song, and some questionable jokes! “

The Leitrim Live concert is one of many live performance events held in Leitrim with the support of Leitrim County Council and the Department of Tourism, Culture, the Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media.

The concert is also one of many events planned for the Corn Mill Theater this year.

They are running a series of workshops with playwright Deirdre Kinahan to support aspiring playwrights. From November 12-14, the theater will host 9 different amateur theater groups from across Ireland, as they compete for a spot in the All Ireland One Act Drama Finals at Ennis (December 3, 4 and 5).

Award-winning director Ronan Ward is producing a new Windows play by playwright Cavan Alice Lynch which will take the stage in October and compete in the All Ireland. And mark your diary for Christmas as The Corn Mill Theater brings breathtaking comedy to the stage, directed by Brian Reilly.
