The three-day celebration will begin on Thursday November 18 at noon with the inauguration of University of South Georgia new “That great Gretsch noise!” exhibit at District Live. Presented as part of a special partnership between the Fred and Dinah Gretsch School of Music at University of South Georgia and The Kessler Collection, this permanent exhibit of drums, guitars and musical memorabilia highlighting 135 years of Gretsch instruments is on display in the District Live lobby and performance space in the Atlantic Building. From noon, University of South Georgia marching band and cheerleaders will perform live at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, followed by University of South Georgia musicians showcasing their talents on the state-of-the-art District Live stage of noon to 1 p.m.
