The band will perform at US Bank Stadium after retiring from a gig at Huntington Bank Stadium.

Foo Fighters will be bringing their 2022 summer tour to Minneapolis after all. The group will perform at US Bank Stadium on August 3. Foo Fighters had originally scheduled a show on the same date at the University of Minnesota’s Huntington Bank Stadium, but quickly pulled out after the venue reportedly failed to comply with the group’s COVID-19 protocols.
Foo Fighters also added a show at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland on May 18 after selling their concert at the venue scheduled for May 16. Tickets for the two newly announced concerts go on sale this Friday, December 10 at 10 a.m. local time. .
Shortly after announcing their 2022 summer tour, the Foo Fighters canceled their show at Huntington Bank Stadium. The group led by Dave Grohl shared a statement regarding the decision, writing:
Due to Huntington Bank Stadium’s refusal to accept the group’s COVID security measures, the Foo Fighters cannot perform at this venue. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working to find a suitable replacement – one who will prioritize the health and safety of all who work and attend the show.
The University of Minnesota released a response, stating:
The University of Minnesota has prioritized the health and well-being of our community and beyond since the start of the pandemic and to say otherwise is misleading. In fact, academic experts in medicine and public health, as well as the University’s own research, have systematically informed local, state, national and even global approaches to the response to COVID-19.
Our on-campus policies related to vaccines, mask wear, personal hygiene, and other precautions are aligned with state and federal government guidelines. As a result, our university community is highly vaccinated (over 95 percent) and has consistently experienced low infection rates compared to the communities surrounding our campus.
Huntington Bank Stadium has been successfully hosting Gopher football since August while fully complying with state and federal COVID guidelines. Everyone who attends events in our public institution, whether they are football fans, concert goers or otherwise, are treated equally and encouraged to take action to protect themselves and others.
The Foo Fighters 2022 North American Tour begins May 14 at the Pavilion At Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.
