Dierks Bentley cancels Thursday’s season-opening concert on the Bangor seafront

Country star Dierks Bentley announced on Tuesday that he would cancel his upcoming concert in Bangor, due to “unforeseen scheduling difficulties”.

Bentley was scheduled to open the 2022 Waterfront Concert season at the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor on Thursday, June 23. It is unclear what the underlying programming difficulties are.

Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will automatically be refunded to ticket holders.

The cancellation means the 2022 season opener will now be Lynyrd Skynyrd, which is due to perform on Sunday July 3.

Although this season is the first full season of concerts on the waterfront since 2019, it has also had its fair share of interruptions, with the highly anticipated Foo Fighters concert originally scheduled for July 27 having been canceled after the death of the drummer of the group, Taylor Hawkins.

A full concert schedule is available online at waterfrontconcerts.com.
