The last time we saw Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker on a basketball court, it didn’t go particularly well for his team.
Phoenix was knocked out of the playoffs by Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, and that was pretty embarrassing. Although the playoffs didn’t end the way Booker would have imagined during the season, there’s still promise at the start of a new campaign.
Before the start of training camp and preseason, however, Booker was able to spend an evening having fun at a Jack Harlow concert in Phoenix. Harlow, a rapper whose debut album went platinum in 2021, invited Booker onto the stage during the performance.
Harlow’s stage setup featured the replica of a house, and it included a basketball hoop above a garage.
It was no surprise to see Harlow, a Celtics fan who participated in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in Cleveland last season, has a sports theme on his show when he was on stage. Harlow was recently the guest host of ESPN’s College GameDay.
What was surprising, however, was to see that Booker missed his shot when he was given a basketball to shoot.
You can hear the crowd’s shock and devastation as the shot slams against the rim and doesn’t fall into the basket. To be fair to Booker, it’s a lot of pressure to perform and the hoop wasn’t legal.
Fortunately, the rapper gave Booker another opportunity. Booker was able to redeem himself on his second chance, but the damage was probably already done.
People who attended the show will remember it as the night Booker missed a free throw while on stage with Jack Harlow.
