Death Cab for Cutie’s new album asphalt meadows will be released next Friday (09/16) and to celebrate they are playing a free live concert from singer Ben Gibbard’s house. Gibard writes:

I started Live From Home during the pandemic when I wanted nothing more than to play music with my bandmates. As we are now back together, it seems only fitting to have everyone in this small room with me to come full circle. The five of us will come to you live this Monday 9/12 at 2pm PT to celebrate “Asphalt Meadows”. We’ll be playing stripped down versions of new songs as well as old favourites, discussing the record and answering your questions ahead of the full album release on 9/16.

This stream will benefit reproductive rights non-profit The Brigid Alliance. If you can, please donate via https://brigidalliance.org or the donate button that is active on this video homepage now.

Above is one of the first singles from asphalt meadows, titled “Here Forever”. The Death Cab for Cutie tour kicks off September 22 in Madison, Wisconsin. Tour dates here. In the meantime, right now, you can go on a real-world treasure hunt at one of the places they’ve played before to listen to the band’s new single “Rand McNally.”
