KENOSHA – Carthage College plans to match the dollar for Wisconsin tuition starting in fall 2022 to help make the college more affordable for its students.

The Wisconsin Tuition Grant is a needs-based grant that provides assistance to undergraduate residents of Wisconsin enrolled at least part-time at a private, non-profit institution in the state of Wisconsin. These grants, which are based on financial need, range from $ 250 to $ 3,650 per year and do not need to be repaid.

The price of a college education keeps increasing, unlike the minimum wage and the number of hours per day. Here’s how many hours per week a student should work to cover their tuition and other fees. Johana Restrepo from PennyGem has more.

“We understand that a college education is an important financial investment for students and their families, but it is also an investment in their future,” said Ashley Hanson, associate vice president of admissions at Carthage. “A college degree opens the door to a life of income and opportunity, so we are delighted to make this announcement.”

Students must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Wisconsin Tuition Scholarship Match to Carthage:

  • New student entering the fall 2022 class
  • Must be accepted in Carthage before December 3
  • Must submit their FAFSA form to Carthage by December 3
  • Must be a resident of Wisconsin

Eligibility and grant amounts will be determined by the student’s FAFSA information.

In Carthage, new incoming students in fall 2022 who receive the Wisconsin tuition grant will have that grant matched by Carthage dollar for dollar up to $ 3,650 per year.
