Clint Black considers himself lazy – a rather absurd statement considering what he has done during the year and a half of lockdown fueled by the pandemic.

In addition to performing regularly live and launching a coffee line called Clint Black Cowboy Coffee, he hosted “Talking in Circles with Clint Black”, a television show where he chatted with other artists. Country artists Travis Tritt and Brad Paisley have already been invited.

All of this was accompanied by the release of “Out of Sane” in 2020, Black’s 13th studio album and one that retains its signature country sound. And now that the concert halls are open again, Black is embracing his return to the road.

Black’s October dates, including an October 24 concert at the Palladium of the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, are nearly two-hour shows dubbed “An Evening With.” Black has recorded nearly 30 top 10 country hits since his 1989 multi-platinum debut, “Killin ‘Time”. But as the 1990s wore on, Black said his relationship with his label, RCA, had deteriorated because of the label’s desire to have Black, who until then had written his own songs, collaborate with the writers- composers of Music Row. A conversation with RCA President Joe Galante was a turning point.

“I couldn’t understand the pressure of recording songs outside when I had so many songs that I had written,” Black said. “He said they just wanted a little taste, and it broke my heart. If he had said he didn’t find my songs so great anymore, I would have felt better. It would still have hurt. But it wasn’t about that. It was about spreading the income from my record to share with the folks at Music Row, and I thought that was exactly the wrong reason for doing anything.

After the release of “D’lectrified” in 1999, Black left RCA. Although he continued to make albums and tour, he expanded into roles in television and film.

Among the shows he has appeared on are “Secret Talents of the Stars”, “Celebrity Duets” (“I sang a song with Cheech [Marin]”) And” celebrity apprentice “.
