ESCANABA – Bay College has announced the Besse Center concert series for fall 2022. Lineup includes: Karlee Metzger & Friends on Friday, September 16, Michael Waite on Friday, October 7, Victoria Vox on Monday, October 10, and Gordon Lightfoot Tribute on Thursday, November 3. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. at the Besse Theater on the main Bay campus in Escanaba.
Kicking off the series on Friday September 16 is the performance of Karlee Metzger & Friends “Nashville Writer’s Round”. This will be an interactive singer-songwriter roundtable where artists will take turns discussing their inspirations and songwriting process during this acoustic performance.
Releasing his new album titled We’ve Always Been Home on Friday, October 7 is singer-songwriter Michael Waite. Joining Michael is his band Adam Sawfox, Eric Marta, Eli Bender, Rachel Capon and Ben Campbell. This album contains songs that are playful observations of human nature written in Michael’s home he built for his family in the Huron Mountains.
Back on the Besse stage, Victoria Vox will perform on Monday October 10 with her ukulele of course. Victoria is famous for using looping, percussive and unique vocal elements in her original songs.
To celebrate the college’s 60th anniversary, Gordon Lightfoot Tribute performs on Thursday, November 3. Mike Fornes and the band will present “Lightfoot – The Stories, The Songs”. Audiences will learn the compelling stories and hear the iconic Gordon songs that captivated millions in the 60s, 70s and 80s.
