(March 22, 2022) – Talladega Superspeedway will host Alabama-born country music artist Riley Green, who is set to headline the track’s traditional Saturday Night Infield concert on April 23, during the weekend. -end GEICO 500. This will be the second time Green, who was born just down the street from the historic 2.66-mile venue in Jacksonville, AL, has performed at the Saturday night concert.

Raised on the sounds of traditional country music, Bluegrass and Southern Gospel, Green learned the spirit of songwriting and performance at a young age while spending time with his grandfather, Bufford Green, who led the Golden Saw Music Hall. Riley shared the stage with him and other men of his generation, laying the groundwork for the songs he would create in years to come.
His first full album DIFFERENT ‘ROUND HERE was released in 2019 via BMLG Records and produced the Platinum-certified No. 1 hit “There Was This Girl” and the Platinum-certified single “I Wish Grandpa’s Never Died” – a song People praised “could take him to a whole new stratosphere,” and he shares posthumous co-writing credits alongside both of his grandfathers. Emphasizing his Southern roots and relatability, he co-wrote each track offering a perspective that Rolling Stone describes as “90s country drinking in the air during an Alabama vs. Auburn tailgate.” Riley was named ACM’s 2020 New Male Artist of the Year.
“Playing at Talladega Superspeedway in 2019 was a dream come true for me,” says Green. “Since I was a kid we would go to the racetrack on Saturday for the concert that night and stay for the race on Sunday. Some of my favorite childhood memories were watching Dale Earnhardt Sr. with my grandfather on Sunday afternoons. I can’t wait to have the opportunity to come back and play in this iconic place.
The Saturday Night Infield Concert festivities, located at the intersection of Eastaboga and Talladega Boulevards, are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. CDT. The show kicks off after a racing doubleheader has run, featuring the General Tire 200 (12:00 p.m. CDT) for the ARCA Menards Series and the Ag-Pro 300 (3:00 p.m. CDT) for the NASCAR Xfinity Series .
Several additional opportunities await fans at Talladega Superspeedway over the coming weekend, including the fan-favorite 140,000 square foot Talladega Garage experience, which includes: close access to the garage’s observation decks, ceremonies before the race and at Victory Lane; hospitality areas such as Fan Suites, Premium Box Seating and the Busch Balcony; amazing children’s programming; and a limited number of remaining RV campsites.
NASCAR’s new “Next Gen” car will see its first action on Talladega’s 33-degree incline in the GEICO 500 (2:00 p.m. CDT start Sunday). Launched at the DAYTONA 500 season opener, the Next Gen car is a collaboration of the brightest minds in racing engineering and the automotive industry. It is designed to give drivers greater control and will emphasize racing strategies, team personnel and vehicle setup while bringing back the “stock car” look to NASCAR. So far this season, racing cars that look more like street vehicles have put on some amazing races for fans.
