LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MI – After nearly 20,000 people gathered for a country music concert in a hayfield in Livingston County on September 18, health officials confirmed that at least 27 people had tested positive for COVID-19,
Other attendees at the outdoor concert near Fowlerville, where country singer Luke Bryan performed, may have been on display, according to the Livingston County Health Department.
The country star and American Idol judge performed the concert as part of his “Farm Tour,” which gives local farms the opportunity to provide land as a concert venue. The 40-acre hay field of Kubiak Family Farms in Conway Township hosted the event, The Livingston Daily reported.
Concert photos shared on social networks and in the news show tight crowds in front of the outdoor stage.
Health officials are not aware of any COVID-19 requirements that may have been in place for event attendees. This includes mandatory masking, or the requirement to show proof of vaccination or a negative test result to attend, Livingston County Health Department spokeswoman Courtney Rynkiewicz said in an email. .
Health officials are encouraging all spectators to get tested for COVID-19, regardless of their vaccination status.

Health officials also said participants should watch for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 until October 3 and wear a mask in public. People with the virus may not have any symptoms or appear two to 14 days after exposure, health officials said.
According to the health service, people with any of these symptoms could have COVID-19 and should be tested: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headaches, news loss of taste or smell, sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.
Investigations into cases related to the concert are still ongoing, Rynkiewicz said.
