(WXYZ) – In the coming weeks, venues like Little Caesars Arena will be filled with thousands of people for shows and concerts. As cases of delta variants increase, this worries spectators who already have their tickets. Others say “let the show begin” because it’s been too long.

“I’m super excited. I want to see them,” said Daren Ferden, who plans to go to the Rolling Stones concert at Ford Field in November. “You know the band has been around forever, so I got to enjoy it. opportunity and see them live, ”he said.

Seeing your favorite bands and musicians live is something people haven’t been able to do for over a year.

“We’re lined up to go see Keith Urban at Soaring Eagle,” said Dan Cipponeri.

Linda Guzman will be at the Fox Theater to see the Long Island Medium.

“It’s good to get back to normal. It really feels good not to have to be so restricted, ”Guzman said.

There are many upcoming events in the Metro Detroit area, inside and out.

Next week Dave Chappelle will be at the Fillmore for a daylong comedy show. They require a COVID-19 test before entering.

They are not alone, smaller places like Small’s Bar in Hamtramck have protocols in place.

“You will need to present a vaccination record or a negative test within 48 hours to enter,” Small owner Mike Mouyianas said.

He says he’s not risking.

“With the delta variant hitting and spreading quickly again, we don’t want to relive that again,” he said.

It’s not the only bar and concert hall to do this, Ferndale’s Magic Bag posted a similar post on their Facebook page saying, “Thank you for being so understanding during this strange time.”

Not everyone is happy with these decisions, some bands that were to perform at Small’s are withdrawing.

“The bulk of it happened through the Hamtramck Music Fest, which takes place this week, and we basically lost our Saturday show because of it.”

Other planned events monitor the situation before implementing requirements for participants.

“Everything will be a recommendation unless we have to impose it. I think it’s a personal choice. And we have to move forward because there is a vaccine,” said Jon Witz, producer for Arts, Beats & Eats.

Over Labor Day, Arts, Beats & Eats will welcome more than 300,000 people to downtown Royal Oak for arts, food and national performances.

“We start the weekend with Thornetta Davis, Queen of Detroit, and we end with Bobby Brown and in the middle, Stone Temple Pilots.”

In case of postponement or cancellation of a show, the organizers will contact you.

On the Live Nation website, it says: “If an event is canceled, no action is required to obtain a refund; we will issue a refund to the original payment method used at the time of purchase, once funds are received from the event organizer. “

And for rescheduled events, tickets are still valid for the new date.

If you buy a ticket on StubHub and the event is canceled, they say “we’ll give you a StubHub credit for 120% of the amount you paid.” The 120% credits will expire on December 31, 2022. “

And if the event is rescheduled, you’re good or you can re-register your tickets for free.

Onlookers say they hope it doesn’t come to this point.

“It has already been canceled and postponed 2-3 times, so fingers crossed nothing has been said about the September 15 show,” Guzman said.
